Hello everyone!
Can anyone please tell me where is this annoying sound coming from? It still appears after swapping the engine(it used to be there before), so definitely the engine has nothing to do with it Although , after changing the engine , this sound used to appear on higher revs as far as I remember. Now it appears on , as you can see , ~3000rpm and that is REALLY annoying , since I can't enjoy a healthy engine and blow off sound I no more have a catalytic converted , there is a straight pipe instead of it.
I really hope that you can tell me , because maybe someone else has the same annoying sound as I do and can share the solution for getting rid of it.

I had a thought , that since my cardan-joints are quite loose , maybe they make this sound , when the whole cardan-shaft starts to vibrate after a certain amount of engine revolutions

Third Picture, almost in the middle of the pic the silver/dirty thing below the gearbox,
but it looks different as in my V8 were i have rattling sounds as well...

Yesterday I pressed a pedal and heard a BOOM under the hood That was really frightening , since my WG is broken and I haven't changed it yet , but I constantly keep looking at the gauge so that I won't do over 1bar boost.
But really , this happened Good , that the plastic was intact and I fixed it within three hours at night , outside and with a friends help using a searchlight

Fix the WG and have some aluminum end tanks welded on or go with a new custom IC.

Wow , it has been a while , since I last wrote something in here

Well , not very much has changed , still not repainted , rust here and there. Actually the car looks terrible . But one day the time will come Or not... Don't really know if it is worth trying to give a rebirth to the body of my car. Engine is running OK , although I have problems with starting it when cold(the engine , not the weather). Also have big problem with windows constantly fogging up in a heavier rain , but that is because half of my a/c system is taken out. That has to be fixed too And yes , the flap near the passengers legs is working as it should

Ah , yes, just finishing collecting all the parts needed to install the full leather avant travertin interior - the most rare and the most beautiful
Well , my current interior is just fine right now , but I've always wanted the travertin I just couldn't lose this great chance

A few questions - will the V8 travertin door frames be OK (fit) in avant , when I change the rubber frame parts from avant? As far as I know , only the rubber and the windows are different from Sedan to Avant.
Can the leather/velour parts on the door panels can be switched? I want to install the V8 travertin door panels , but they have velour material. I have a set of Audi 100 travertin door panels with proper leather material , but they don't look as good and the V8 panels have this nice soft material on the bottom

Another question - how do I change the name of my whole topic? There was this option once , but can't see it anymore

And one more - are quattro and fwd carpets the same? I heard both opinions , but still don't know who to believe

i'm jealous because you have those nice 20V fenders. can't find them anywhere for my avant.
and really nice color of the new interior , almost the same as mine, only the carpet i wouldn''t want to put in light color. man, i'm also from baltic states, and we both know what are winters like in here. you'll have to clean the car every 2 days and you won't be able to pick up passengers

Oh , great to hear that you like my project Although it has a lot of holes , as a project Your project is much more interesting in a technical way , as a quattro with TDI Would like to see how it runs actually
And you know , no winter will stop me from changing the interior , as well as the carpet, into this color In the winter one can use those rubber mats with little borders on the sides , so almost no snow/water will go on the carpet , as long as ones legs are put into the car in a controlled way , if you know what I mean And yes , some people (passengers) just don't care about it A friend of mine once was so energetic getting out of the back of the car , that she broke off the rear ashtray on the door... Oh god I was so mad about it. But finding another black one is not that big of a problem , so I just replaced it. Finding one in travertin colour will be more of a challenge... This is what this interior will give me - brilliant , exclusive looks, but also a constant care and being 100 times more precautious than I ever was But I'm going to do it anyway

I`d suspect these two things won`t fit off of the V8 sedan`s leather:

Rear door plates, especially the much longer V8 (sedan`s) arm rests. But you can move the whole arm rest carrier over into the Avant. Then it will fit, albeit the rear doors will close a bit tougher.
The sedan`s rear seat upper half won`t fit at all. There you have to find a different soloution on your own This is the biggest potential problem.

Oh , you may have misunderstood me or I wasn't clear enough Since I have no idea on how to change the velour parts to leather parts on the door panels , I'm sticking with the Audi 100 travertin leather door panels , instead of Audi V8 velour door panels. So that leaves me with correct door panels , correct door handles for avant and speakers in the rear doors , as the interior is from avant.
Actually ,the whole history behind this interior is rather interesting
Let me tell you:

There was this crashed blue Audi 100 Avant Sport in travertin leather being parted out 2-3 years ago. A friend of mine with his Audi 100 TQ Sport sedan (black interior) bought only the seats and door panels in travertin from this avant. So the rest (front panel , all the plastics , the carpet etc.) were left. I found the ad for this avant back then , because I needed front wheel strut and a fender. I went there and bought them. I saw that this avant had this interior , actually , only the parts left , that my friend didn't take , but I didn't bother buying them , since there were "only" these parts left and no actual interior. Now , after those 2-3 years that friend with his Audi 100 TQ Sport sedan , sold the car to another typ44 enthusiast and he put an ad for those travertin seats and door panels , because he wanted a black leather interior. So , there were the front seats , bottom part of the rear seat and only the leather itself from the upper part of the seat(since the avant seat didn't fit the sedan , he removed the leather and threw the seat away , leaving only the leather). So , I bought those seats with door panels , because I saw another ad for avant with travertin interior being parted out like two months ago. After buying the seats and door panels , I called by that ad and it turned out that the idiot already threw out what was left of that avant with all the interior parts. Oh god that made me mad , but then I remembered about that first blue avant , where that friend bought those seats from in the first place. Unfortunately I didn't have the dudes number , but I was so into the thought , that he might still have all the parts , because I remember those parts stored nicely in boxes , sorted out (which shows a great attitude into cars and not throwing the parts out after two months). So , luckily I remembered where he lived and asked a friend who lives there to check that dude out. Later in the evening I received a call - the dude still has all the parts!! Except for the avant leather curtain over the boot in travertin. The next day I went there and took everything he still had. Later that next day I remembered that there was this Audi 100 comfort 2.5TDI avant driving around in my town in travertin and the driver didn't care much about it. I accidentally met him the same day. I turned out he still had the leather curtain over the boot in travertin. After a little explaining and negotiation , I exchanged my black leather curtain into his travertin leather curtain because he just didn't care (he already had his velour seats changed into black ones). I also found this V8 parts car in travertin , so I took everything that could fit in my car from there as well , as "spare interior parts" What I'm going to do is re-sew the rear seat upper part leather onto another avant seat and will have a complete travertin avant interior. Oh , I forgot that I still have to take out the flat boot floor in travertin from the same dude that parted out that blue avant , because after the crash he put these parts into another typ44 avant he bought later with grey interior. He agreed to take my black flat boot floor and give me the travertin one , yeeey
And luckily , that avant had climatronic , so there are all the needed holes in the front panel
So , that is the whole story for this travertin interior of mine It can be called "being lucky"

Sure you can

(I came to my "platin" grey Avant Sport leather in a similar way. Actually it consists of a mixture of VFL Avant parts and NFL sedan parts. And I had to take a ride of 800+ kms just to get the Avant Stuff. Sadly the drivers seat`s leather is partially heavy damaged. And I haven`t been able to find a replacement (drivers side or passengers side doesnt matter) yet.)
