MC2 Turbo questions

Beitrag von SamFM »

Hi guys!

I've recently sold A6 C6 and bought Audi 100 C3 Facelift instead.
It has front wheel drive, turbo MC2 engine and Avant body.

I've tried to get as much info as I can, but no one seems to know. So, I need your advice:

- Should the aftercooling pump turn on together with injector cooling fan or they act separate?
- Where can you get new resistor plate that mounts on the left side of the engine bay or can it be rapaired somehow?
- After I purschased my car, I had a wonderful acceleration and 1,4 bar boost shown on the instrument cluster, but about 200 km later, my boost dropped to 1.1 and car acceleration worsened a lot. I've checked car with VAG-COM, replaced every sensor that got faults, replaced main intercooler hose, replaced detonation and temperature sensors. But still same problem.

Could it be due to throttle position switch or intake temperature sensor (the one that is inside the intercooler)?
And does intercooler temperature sensor really affects something?

no the aftercooling preserves the running of the fans and the coolandflow After engine shutoff to a certan temp them it stops (to high like afire is aswell protected) the relay is inside your footwel lefthandside next to the door

TRS shop https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tradition you can often find new oldstock parts.

lack op boost can be
vacuumlines
sensors ed
but often the inlet temp sensor on the side oft the IC (next to the richt headlicht) can be faulty. two wires often break (wil not matter witch way te place them back)

Hi sigare!

Thank you for the reply!
Now I understand much more.

Haven't thought that IC sensor is so important. Maybe thats why I lack boost.

I have a new problem now: car won't start, no spark. I checked G28 and G4 sensors - they are good.
Will try checking ignition coil driver and ECU.

Thanks for trying to help!

I don't have alarm on my car.
And I've found a problem of no-start:

Weirdly, it linked to the steering damper (https://www.drive2.ru/l/479725170609619339/ ) I have installed additionally. It mounts between the steering rack and the firewall.
So, after installation the motor wiring loom has been torn apart by steering link. So, after the wiring was fixed, the car started no problem.

Now, I'm trying to make my N75 valve work when I accelerate. Currently, seems like the ECU just doesn't send the - signal to N75.
I've checked the intercooler temperature sensor - it's OK and showd 505 Ohm when cold.
Next step - test my throttle position sensor, I guess.
